Allison named Director of Title IX ComplianceAugust 16, 2017 |
After a national search, Adrienne Allison has been selected as the Director of Title IX Compliance in the Equal Opportunity and Compliance Office, effective Aug. 1. In this position, Allison will have primary responsibility for coordinating the University’s efforts to comply with and carry out its responsibilities under Title IX, which prohibits sex discrimination in all operations of the University, as well as retaliation.
She will lead the University’s response and compliance efforts related to Title IX, coordinate resources for those affected by sexual harassment and sexual violence, organize training and awareness efforts, and monitor the implementation of the University’s discrimination and sexual violence policy. Together with the Director of Equal Opportunity and Compliance, Adrienne will oversee a team of investigators and response coordinators who ensure a timely and thorough response to all claims of harassment, discrimination and sexual violence.
Allison previously served as the Title IX Associate Coordinator, where she worked with Katie Nolan, the Interim Title IX Coordinator, to support the University’s goal of providing a safe Carolina learning and working environment by monitoring the University’s compliance with Title IX regulations and requirements. Her other related experience includes compliance and management for a statewide nonprofit legal organization, legal representation of clients with disabilities, and career development and advising for students at the School of Law. Adrienne has both a bachelor’s degree and a J.D. with honors from UNC-Chapel Hill.
