Career Development Certificate Track

CONTENTS

Overview

The Career Development certificate track is designed to encourage lifelong learning skills for employees at all levels who want to establish career goals and customize a development plan in line with their own areas of interest. Participants enrolling in this track will identify career goals, and then develop a plan to increase knowledge, skills and experience needed to advance in their chosen career path or transition to a different career. There are six required courses with two electives in the track. Courses may be taken in any order once career goals are established. Participants who apply for this track must complete all coursework within three years of their application date.

To begin this track, complete the enrollment form located at the bottom of this page. Please begin enrolling in your courses at any time at www.training.unc.edu. Participants enrolled in certificate tracks will be updated about any changes and upcoming classes that may help fulfill their requirements.


Core Courses

Participants in the Career Development certificate track are asked to complete the following six core classes. Courses may be taken in any order. All courses are offered at least once annually, but may not be offered on every Program Guide.

  • Building a Professional Image
  • MBTI and Careers
  • Effective Decision Making
  • Influencing and Negotiating Effectively
  • Networking for Success
  • MBTI & The Workplace

Electives

Two electives are required for completion of this certificate track. Electives will be determined with your Career Development track advisor.
