Chancellor's Award for Excellence
2008 nomination deadline extended until Friday, May 23.
The Chancellor's Award Program was established in 1991 to recognize the contributions made by University employees based on meritorious or distinguished accomplishments in the categories of devotion to duty, innovations, public service, safety/heroism, human relations, and other achievements
Nomination Process
Nomination forms are mailed to all permanent employees in the spring of each year.
All University employees (SPA, EPA, EPA non-faculty) are eligible for nomination. Nominating employees should complete the nomination form, attach a written nomination, have the "Nominee's Normal Job" section completed and signed by the nominee's supervisor, and, finally, mail the completed nomination to the Employee Services Department prior to the posted deadline.
Nominations are submitted to a Recognition Committee comprised of a cross-section of University personnel. The committee recommends up to five individuals to the Chancellor for final selection.
Awards and Luncheon
Award recipients are honored at a recognition luncheon (generally in August) with the Chancellor. Each receives a monetary award of $1000, a special leave award of 24 hours, and a framed certificate. The Chancellor's Award honorees also become the University's nominees for the State Employees Awards for Excellence.
