Faculty Titles
Faculty may retain their tenured or distinguished titles as "working titles" in phased retirement. Their rank title for their phased new employment becomes a fixed-term title for payroll purposes, e.g., adjunct professor.
The faculty member is not eligible for "emeritus" status until the three-year phased retirement period has ended.
If the faculty member holds a distinguished or named professor appointment that has a termination date, that designation will cease at the time of entering the phased retirement program.
