EPAWeb EPA Rank Structure

EPA employees are assigned a Rank based upon their position.  The EPA Rank Structure is currently divided into five main categories, as follows:

• Faculty
• Senior Academic Administrative Officers (SAAO's) -- Tier 1 and Tier 2
• Research and Instruction
• Students
• Post-Docs

Within each category there are various types of ranks that are defined by a title and the related two-digit title code.  In addition, there are currently twelve Rank Modifiers with individual modifier codes, which can be used to further clarify the title. 

Reminder:  some EPAWeb actions require identifying the EPA Rank "Title Code" and "Modifier Code".  Within such EPAWeb actions, this information would be entered under the section specifying "Current Ranks".  The most specific "Title Code" and "Modifier Code" should be referenced within the EPAWeb action whenever possible.
