Basic Pilot Employment Eligibility Verification (EEV) and Form I-9 Procedures - Information for Departments

The following documents were developed by OHR to assist UNC-Chapel Hill departmental Human Resources Facilitators and managers with EEV and Federal Form I-9 procedures:

• I-9 and Employment Eligibility Verification New Hire Checklist (NEW; effective 12/18/2007)
• I-9 and Basic Pilot Compliance Guidelines (NOTE: updated Aug. 17, 2007; not yet updated to reflect revised I-9 form Rev. 06/05/07N as announced in November 2007)
• I-9 Lists of Acceptable Documents (superceded by revised I-9 form Rev. 06/05/07N as announced in November 2007)
• Information on EEV Submission Tool in HR Central
• Directions for an employee to report to the EEV Coordinator for follow-up

The following additional documents are published by the US Department of Homeland Security (DHS) and provide general information on Federal Form I-9 procedures. These publications do not provide specific business procedures for UNC-Chapel Hill:

The blank Federal Form I-9 (Rev. 06/05/07N, as announced in November 2007) can be downloaded for completion by departments by clicking here.
