Equal Employment Opportunity Institute

The Equal Employment Opportunity Institute (EEOI)–Level 1, as mandated by G.S. 126.16.1 and administered by the Office of State Human Resources (OSHR), is required for all state government employees who were hired, promoted, or appointed to the position of supervisor or manager on or after July 1, 1991. Managers and supervisors hired, promoted, or appointed prior to that date are strongly encouraged to attend the Institute.

This course is designed to deliver the latest information needed to help managers and supervisors understand both federal and state equal-employment opportunity (EEO) and affirmative-action (AA) laws in the context of daily work situations. The course design also will provide managers and supervisors with applicable information to help them work more effectively with a diverse workforce. The course totals 12 hours over a day and a half and is offered at no cost to employees.
