Subject: Pandemic Influenza Planning

The attached memo is being sent to all Deans, Directors and Department Heads, asking that each UNC department and administrative unit prepare for the possibility of pandemic influenza. Please contact your Dean, Director or Department Head to find out how your department or administrative unit will respond to this request.
It is important that Human Resource Facilitators participate in this planning. You will note, for example, that planning requires the identification of Public Health Emergency Employees, and that employees should be encouraged to enter emergency contact information into HRIS. You are likely to know some key information for your Continuity of Operations Plan. Your help in this planning is both important and appreciated. Please contact me if you have any questions.
