High Deductible Health Plan
UNC-Chapel Hill offers the High Deductible Health Plan (HDHP) through the State Health Plan of North Carolina. Non-permanent (Temporary) employees working an average of 30 (.75 FTE) or more hours per week are eligible for coverage under this plan.
This is a High Deductible Health Plan with features that include: Affordable Care Act (ACA) preventive care services and medications covered at 100% with In-network providers. The University contributes a portion of the monthly towards the plan’s cost.

- You must first contact the HR Benefits office 919-843-8000 or benefits@unc.edu of your interest to participate
- Next, you must go to the North Carolina State Health Plan Member Portal to complete your registration and enrollment.
(*Note: You will not be able to initiate or complete step 2 until you have first contacted the HR Benefits office.)
