The following application procedures apply to Permanent Staff (SHRA) positions only.
Once you’ve selected a position that you’re interested in applying for, click “Apply to this Job.” You will be asked to login or create an account to begin the application process.
Please note: Applicants will need to certify and submit their application in order to receive consideration. Applicants will receive a confirmation number once their application has been successfully submitted.
To ensure your application is given full consideration for any position for which you apply, you should provide complete and accurate information. Applicants are solely responsible for ensuring that the information entered is accurate and complete.
The application is your opportunity to help the department and us:
- Learn about your education, experience, skills and abilities
- Evaluate your qualifications as compared to the minimum qualifications for the position to which you have applied
- Make referrals to the University department filling the specific job opening
- Determine salary eligibility
Resume
You may include for consideration a resume with your online application. You may also submit a customized resume targeted for a specific position each time you apply for each position. Note: A resume may be submitted as a supplement in the Documents Needed to Apply section of the application. Resume information may supplement, but is not a substitute for, completing the application in detail.
As part of the Employment Information page of the application, do not indicate “See Resume.” Applications indicating “See Resume” may not receive full consideration for employment.
Your application must be submitted through the online application system before 11:59 p.m. EST/EDT on the closing date* to be considered. Open positions will no longer be available to view or apply for after 11:59 p.m. on the closing date.
Successfully submitted applications will appear in the “Completed Applications” section of “Your Applications” immediately. This screen also shows the current status of each position – open, closed, canceled or filled.
*NOTE: In keeping with North Carolina G.S. 126-14.3(3), the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill uses a general recruitment closing date of between five business and 60 calendar days from the date first posted for permanent job openings subject to the State Human Resources Act. The posting period, opening date and closing date are included on each job posting.
