High-Impact Feedback & Listening

Learning how to deliver high-impact feedback is critical for helping employees build good working relationships, apply effective communication approaches, and achieve positive results at work.  Both the feedback giver and receiver must learn to listen for understanding to minimize common negative or defensive feelings.

Course Objectives:

  • Support employee’s job performance, growth, and development by providing effective feedback
  • Build authentic, trusting relationships with employees that show you have their best interest in mind
  • Identify opportunities and create a culture of seeking feedback and giving feedback to others
  • Recognize how to handle, reduce, or eliminate unnecessary defensiveness or negative emotions that accompany feedback discussions

All UNC-Chapel Hill faculty and staff are invited to register for and attend the various courses offered by the Office of Human Resources Organization and Professional Development team.
