Open Enrollment begins

Open Enrollment runs Oct. 9–27 and is your once-a-year opportunity to add, delete or change your benefits plans for the upcoming year unless you experience a qualifying life event such as a change in your employment or marital status outside of the enrollment period. Changes made during open enrollment are effective on January 1 of the next calendar year.

Enrollment takes place online in ConnectCarolina Self Service through the State Enrollment Portal and UNC System Enrollment Portal. This year, you will use the State Enrollment Portal for ONLY the State Health Plan and tobacco attestation; you will use the UNC System Enrollment for all other benefits plans.
