As a UNC-Chapel Hill employee, Campus Recreation provides several ways for you to stay active on campus – at no cost to you. Upcoming opportunities include free personal training through the “Mock Client Training Program,” free rock climbing on Fridays at the Rams Head Climbing wall, and employee-only fitness classes in tai chi and yoga at Rams Head Recreation Center.

Free Personal Training

UNC Campus Recreation welcomes UNC employees to participate in the “Mock Client Training Program”. This program is designed to give students real-life training experience, while working towards their Personal Trainer Certification. All trainings will begin after Spring Break, and be held at the Student Recreation Center or Rams Head Recreation Center.

To participate, you should be in good health, with no major medical concerns that could affect your ability to train. Participation will include an initial consultation with a trainer and three training sessions. All at no cost to you!

This program is available on a first come, first serve basis. If interested in participating, please fill out a Mock Client Interest Form.

Free Employee Lunch Time Climb

When: Every Friday, 11 a.m. – 3 p.m.

Where: Rams Head Climbing Wall, 340 Ridge Road, Chapel Hill, NC 27514

All faculty and staff are invited to take a break and reach greater heights every Friday at the Rams Head Climbing Wall. No membership required. Climbing is free. No experience needed.

Walk-ins welcome!
