Dear HR Officer:

This is a reminder that the process for administering SHRA temporary salary increases in ConnectCarolina will change as of Friday, June 24, 2022. The supplement amount will now be entered on a separate flat-rate line rather than being combined with the base salary.

The annual amount of the supplement should be divided by 12 and that number entered in the flat-rate line. The annualized amount will appear so that you can check your math. Although it is entered on the ePAR as a monthly amount, it will be systematically converted to be paid as a biweekly amount in the employee’s regular paycheck. Once the action has executed, the compensation tab on the employee’s job record will indicate the annual amount and the supplement amount on separate lines. A screenshot of the new ePAR appearance is attached.

To remove a temporary increase, you will simply zero out the flat-rate line and submit.
This change only affects temporary increases for SHRA and SHRA LEO permanent employees. All other employee types will continue to follow their current processes.

If you have any questions, please contact your assigned Classification & Compensation Consultant.
