We are pleased to announce that we have worked with the University’s background check vendor, InfoMart, to restructure UNC-Chapel Hill’s background check packages and pricing. There will be an average cost savings of $3.55, depending on the background check package and compared to the previous vendor’s fees.

Effective April 1, 2022, background checks billed on or after April 1 will include all mandatory state and county criminal record check fees except for the New York statewide criminal search in the package price. Note: Package prices will still not include the interdepartmental fee, state DMV, education, and professional license verification fees.

Please note that due to the timing between when a check is requested and when it is billed by the vendor, the post-order estimated amount indicated on some background check request summaries may be adjusted to reflect the new package pricing.

In addition, the following new non-employee packages will be added to the package options:

  • Non-employee + professional License + DMV
  • Non-employee + degree + professional license
