Nominations are now being accepted for the 2019 Outstanding Encouragement of Learning and Development (OELD) Award.

The Outstanding Encouragement of Learning and Development Award is given annually to a supervisor or manager who actively facilitates the participation of staff members in learning activities. An eligible supervisor encourages employees to attend classes and programs that are relevant to the employees’ professional development, and the University wants to recognize supervisors who support a more engaged, productive workforce.

The Office of Human Resources is inviting nominations for the 2019 OELD Award for a manager or supervisor who supports employees’ learning and development. Any University employee may nominate a manager or supervisor, including those who were nominated in previous years, are eligible to be nominated again.

The award was created by the Chancellor’s Task Force for a Better Workplace in 2004 and is open to SHRA and EHRA managers who have had at least one year of continuous University service. The award is presented to one manager at the annual meeting of the University Managers Association, and includes 24 hours of paid time off and a plaque.

Recent past recipients were Aisha Pridgen from the Office of Student Conduct in 2018, Bob Collicito from the Department of Radiology in 2017, Jerry Guerrier from Facilities Planning & Design in 2016, and Lachonya Williams from CAS in 2015.

Nominations for the OELD Award will be accepted through Tuesday, April 2, 2019. To nominate a manager or supervisor, please visit the OELD page on the Office of Human Resources website.
