For many of us, it has been a while since we’ve been on campus while others of us have already come back and some never left. Regardless, here are some helpful resources for all of us to navigate the full-campus return.
Technology and Equipment Considerations
If you have been away from campus for a while, make sure to set aside some time to assure a smooth transition back to your on-campus space. Whether it’s logging in to an office desktop, reconnecting your access to campus Wi-Fi or reconfiguring your office phone, ITS has created a helpful ITS return to campus resource page to help guide you. If you are bringing equipment back to campus, please make sure to contact your local ITS consultant to assist you.

Parking and Transportation
Employees interested in an on-campus permit should contact their department parking coordinator (hospital employees should contact the hospital parking office). Employees scheduled to work fewer than three days on-site under an flexible work location plan may be eligible for a “flex” parking pass at a reduced rate.
Other ways of getting to and around campus will also be available. Chapel Hill Transit provides fare-free bus service between UNC, Chapel Hill and Carrboro, and Park-and-Ride lots are available for daytime riders. The University’s Commuter Alternative Program comes with some extra perks for participants.

Information about dining options available on campus can be found on the Carolina Dining website, dining.unc.edu. Facilities Services staff are coordinating outdoor seating locations. These multipurpose outdoor spaces can be used for dining, gathering and study space.

Just Outside Your Door
Between large canopies for groups, dozens of benches and even a rock garden, Carolina has plenty of outdoor spaces to work, meet or get some fresh air. Find out where to go on campus.
