Steve Agostini, Associate Vice Chancellor, Finance and Budget

We are asking HR Officers to review their vacant positions in the ConnectCarolina HR/Payroll system and determine which are no longer necessary and can be abolished. This effort will reduce the number of unnecessary positions your organization will have to maintain, will streamline vacancy reporting, and will help your organization with more accurate data for staffing and budget planning. Rosters for FY22-23 budget planning will be built from the data in the ConnectCarolina HR/Payroll system, so any cleanup done now will help streamline next year’s budget planning process.

HR Officers will be sent a separate e-mail shortly with the list of vacant positions in their School/Division. They should review the list, indicate those which should be abolished, and return the list to the HRIM team by 7/16/21. Once the lists are returned, the HR Information Management team will mass-abolish the indicated positions effective 8/1/21 on behalf of the School/Division.

HR Officers should consult with their Finance Lead when determining which positions will not be filled and can be abolished.

If you have any questions, please feel free to contact us. Thank you, in advance, for your attention to this matter.

With kind regards,

Vicki Bradley, Ph.D.
Associate Vice Chancellor
Human Resources and Equal Opportunity and Compliance

Steve Agostini
Associate Vice Chancellor
Finance and Budget
