Activities run 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. in Fetzer Hall unless otherwise specified.
Participation is free, and attendance is considered work time for employees, who should seek advance supervisor approval to attend.

In just 15 minutes, you’ll have a comprehensive wellness review, which includes your total, HDL and LDL cholesterol, cholesterol/HDL ratio, triglycerides, blood glucose, height, weight, blood pressure, body mass index and waist circumference. Knowing your numbers lets you know if you’re at risk for or have an undiagnosed chronic condition. Participants with any abnormal results should contact their primary care provider for additional follow-up.

Appointments are encouraged but not required.
Important Screening Reminders:
- Screening appointments will begin at 9:00 a.m. Walk-in appointments are offered on a first available basis. Screening slots are limited.
- Fasting is recommended but not required.
- This screening is provided through your NC State Health Plan (the Plan) insurance and is for members of the Plan. Please bring your new 2025 insurance card and a photo ID to the screening.
- Your results will NOT be shared with your employer or the Plan.

Knowing your numbers is the first step to taking control of your health. Nearly half of American adults are living with high blood pressure and many don’t even know it! Commonly referred to as the ‘silent killer’, high blood pressure often does not have any obvious symptoms. - 11:45 a.m. – noon | Physical Therapy Movement Analysis | Join UNC Division of Physical Therapy to understand how we move about the world. This session will help you identify common movement patterns and improve mobility.
- 12:15 p.m. – 12:45 p.m. | Gracie Jiu-Jitsu Self-Defense | Learn leverage-based self-defense techniques that empower you to protect yourself.
- 1 – 1:20 p.m. | Yoga & Mindfulness Micro Practices | Learn brief movement and mindfulness practices you can do anywhere, anytime without any equipment. These practices are designed to do during your workday, taking breaks from the computer, or anytime your body or brain needs a reset.
- 1:35 – 2 p.m. | Mindful Meditation | During this session you will be guided through different mindfulness practices to promote hope, connection and balance in the midst of stress. The objective is to leave with at least one strategy you can immediately use in your day-to-day life.

- 12:15 – 12:35 p.m. | Kidney-Friendly Apple Cider Bean Salad | Join the National Kidney Foundation to boost your kitchen confidence and learn to create a kidney-friendly bean salad with ingredients you may already have. All welcome!
- 1:15 – 1:45 p.m. | Healthy Brunch: Waffle, Fruit, and Yogurt Parfaits; Asparagus, Spinach and Feta Bake; and Hibiscus and Mint Punch | Join Carolina Dining Services to learn healthy recipes and cooking tips. Participants will enjoy a 30-minute cooking demo by CDS Senior Executive Chef Michael Gueiss and nutrition information provided by CDS Registered Dietitian Lee July.

Breast Cancer Screening Opportunities
Advances in early detection and treatment have increased the 5-year relative breast cancer survival rate to 99%.
Schedule your annual 2D or 3D mammogram, available by appointment.
Screening takes approximately 20-30 minutes.
Results are confidential and only shared with you and your listed referring physician.
To participate in the Breast Cancer Screening, you must:
- Be 40 years of age or older.
- Not have had a mammogram in the last 12 months.
- Not be pregnant or have breastfed in the last 6 months.
- Not have any abnormal symptoms (i.e. pain, new lump or nipple discharge).
- No referral needed. Include the name of your established physician (PCP or OB/GYN) as your referring provider.
- Screening results will be sent to the physician provided.
2D & 3D Screenings are available 5 days a week.
