Employees Come Together
to Believe in New Beginnings

Employee Wellness Day brought together approximately 2,300 UNC-Chapel Hill faculty and staff for the first time since 2019. The day included music, games, wellness exhibits, wellbeing sessions, wellness checks, cooking and fitness demos and a healthy boxed lunch.

Participants had the opportunity to learn new recipes through in-person and virtual cooking demonstrations provided by Carolina Dining Services, The Produce Box and UNC Wellness Centers.

Nearly 200 employees took part in a free in-person or virtual fitness classes provided by Eat the Frog Fitness, UNC Campus Recreation, UNC Program on Integrative Medicine, UNC School of Global Public Health and UNC Wellness Centers. Classes included chair yoga, core strength for a healthy back, functional movement for the workday, gentle yoga, Pilates, step and Zumba.

Leading up to Friday’s event, there were 15 virtual opportunities to improve your total wellbeing through movement, learning and meditation. These sessions were recorded and are now available in the Wellness On-Demand library. Thank you to our presenters: American Foundation for Suicide Prevention, ComPsych, UNC College of Arts and Sciences, UNC School of Global Public Health, UNC School of Medicine, and UNC Wellness Centers.

All virtual session participants and those who completed the feedback survey will be entered into a drawing to win a prize, including a HEPA Filter air purifier. Winners will be contacted the week of April 4.

Thanks also to everyone who participated throughout the week! We look forward to seeing you again next year.

Until then, be well.
