From financial pressures to workplace stress and family dealings, life can be challenging. If you need help with life issues, the UNC-Chapel Hill Employee Assistance Program (EAP) is available. The EAP is a confidential counseling and resource program that is designed to help University employees and their families deal with both personal and work-related concerns.

The purpose of this policy is to outline provisions covering the following human resource areas in case of a communicable disease or other serious public health threat that is declared by the public health officials to be a public health emergency, including designation of mandatory employees; compensation for mandatory employees; accounting for absences; and emergency furlough provisions.

The University is committed to provide a workplace that is free from workplace violence by establishing preventative measures, by holding perpetrators of violence accountable, and by providing assistance and support to victims. Any form of violence as defined in this policy may be cause for disciplinary action, up to and including dismissal, as unacceptable personal conduct.
