The State Health Plan dependent eligibility audit began on May 22, 2017 and concludes on July 31, 2017. Plan participants who cover dependents will receive a letter from the State Health Plan by the end of this month. The purpose of the audit is to ensure that all dependents currently enrolled in the State Health Plan are eligible to receive coverage under the Plan. This particular audit applies to dependent eligibility for coverage under the State Health Plan, only.
Who Needs to Take Action
State Health Plan members who currently cover dependents (spouse and/or children) under the Plan must verify each dependent’s eligibility to participate in the Plan. Under the audit process, members are required to respond and submit the necessary documentation for each covered dependent no later than July 31, 2017. For a list of acceptable documentation, click here. Failure to respond and produce the required documentation will result in termination of the dependent’s State Health Plan coverage effective August 1, 2017.
