Join the Office of Human Resources on Wednesday, March 13 in Fetzer Hall for the annual Total WellBeing Expo to learn how to stay healthy, happy and safe. The event includes a wealth of health and wellness vendors, fitness and cooking demonstrations, education, prizes and fun.

Snag some swag! The more Expo activities you participate in, the more wellness swag you’ll leave with. In addition, each activity you participate in will enter you in a drawing to win a prize, including a Fitbit Charge 3, wireless earbuds, gift cards and much more.

Wellness Check

9:00 a.m. – 1:30 p.m.
Location: Fetzer Hall, Exhibit Hall (Gym A)

Register or walk-in for a free wellness check. In just 15 minutes, you’ll have your cholesterol, blood glucose/A1c, blood pressure, body mass index, and waist circumference numbers to help you make healthy decisions and follow-up with your primary care provider, if needed.

  • Individual results are NOT shared with your employer or the State Health Plan.
  • Walk-in appointments are offered on a first available basis. Screening slots are limited.

Join Chef Michael Gueiss from Carolina Dining Services to learn how to make heart healthy Salmon Couscous Bowls.

Research has shown that the traditional Mediterranean diet reduces the risk of heart disease. The diet improves heart health and has been associated with lowering LDL cholesterol, as well as reducing the incidence of some cancers, Parkinson’s and Alzheimer’s diseases.

Cooking demos will be held throughout the Expo and will be approximately 30 minutes. They will begin at the following times:

  • 11:15 a.m.
  • 12:00 p.m.
  • 12:45 p.m.
  • 1:30 p.m.

Mini-Mindfulness & Education Sessions

Join a mini 15-20 minute session to learn about a variety of mindfulness and alternative medicine techniques that promote and preserve health. Topics will include office stretching, breathing exercised, essential oils and much more! Details below.
