Carolina Club
The Carolina Club is a member-supported dining club created for alumni, faculty, staff and friends of the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill. It provides a pleasant, upscale environment for meeting colleagues and friends, entertaining guests and dining in warm and friendly on-campus surroundings.
Located in the George Watts Hill Alumni Center between Stadium Drive and the Rams Head Center, the club is a gathering place on work days and game days. Membership is available to alumni, faculty, staff and friends of the University who are at least 21 years old and members of the General Alumni Association. Affectionately known as the University’s living room, the Carolina Inn has been one of the region’s most popular sites for academic conferences, business meetings, weddings and other important events since it opened in 1924. The Inn is listed on the National Register of Historical Places and boasts a four-diamond rating from AAA and a four-star rating from Mobil.
A favorite gathering place for work lunches and dinner before a show at Memorial Hall, the Carolina Inn is always full up on weekends when there’s a Carolina home football or basketball game. And Friday Nights on the Front Porch, featuring bluegrass music and seasonal food offerings on the front lawn, are a big draw for campus families and neighbors from across the Triangle.

The University is recognized regionally and nationally as a leader in alternative transportation initiatives. UNC-Chapel Hill has been named a “Super Achiever” by Best Workplace for Commuters, an EPA and NC Department of Transportation award, received an “A” for our transportation initiatives from the Association for the Advancement of Sustainability in Higher Education’s report card and received top honors for our efforts during Bike to Work Week.
The ZipCar program at Carolina has served as a national leader in the promotion of car sharing services. Learn more about commuter alternative programs, carpooling, vanpooling and the local and regional mass transit systems available to campus at the link above.

Campus Health Services offers an International Travel Clinic for those UNC community members – including faculty and staff – traveling to developing parts of the world. Employees can receive recommendations tailored to their travel itinerary accounting for immunizations and medical history, current medications, allergies, planned activities and type of accommodations as well as information concerning health risks in developing areas including destination-specific risks and prevention strategies.
The cost for this service is $75 for faculty and staff. Campus Health will administer vaccines recommended for your destination and medications to help prevent illness; those charges will be billed to your insurance. Library Services
Carolina’s campuswide library system has one of the premier collections in the South, highlighted by several revered special collections. These include the North Carolina Collection, the Rare Book Collection, the Southern Historical Collection and the Southern Folklife Collection. Employees may check out books at Davis, the Undergraduate and Wilson libraries in addition to 14 other library facilities on campus, all by using your UNC OneCard.

University property considered unusable or unserviceable is sent to the Surplus Property Warehouse for disposal. The University Surplus Property Warehouse staff disposes of equipment and furniture through sales to University departments, sales to the general public, transfers to the State Surplus Warehouse, or recycling. The UNC Dental Faculty Practice is offering UNC employees and their immediate families a 20% discount on new-patient comprehensive exam appointments and the associated x-rays taken that day. You will be seen by the dentists that are teaching the future dentists of North Carolina.
Because the Practice provides both general and specialized dental care, each individual patient’s oral health needs will be determined after seeing a dental practitioner for a comprehensive diagnosis. The UNC One Card is a multipurpose identification and online accounts card. Employees can use it for any on-campus purchases from Chick-fil-A to parking tickets. It is the official identification card for students, faculty and staff. The One Card provides employees access to certain facilities and event and also serves as their campus library card.
The Carolina Employee Express Plan is designed to offer all permanent employees of the University the flexibility to use their One Card for purchases on campus and to have those purchases deducted from their payroll check each payday. This plan is available only to full-time or part-time permanent University employees.

The Student Stores Pharmacy provides a quick stop for students, faculty and staff to pick up prescriptions & over-the-counter (OTC) medications. The pharmacy accepts almost all insurance plans, including State Health plans, and offers convenient prescription refill, using ReadyRefill online service and prescription-ready text messages. Upon availability, flu shots and shingles vaccine are administered, no appointment necessary.
Over-the-counter medications, such as Acetaminophen( generic Tylenol), Ibuprofen (generic Advil), Hydrocortisone 1% cream, pseudoephedrine, and allergy medications are available at significantly reduced prices.
